Dr Imogen Tomlin-Game BVSc
Veterinarian
Originally from Kent in the UK, Dr Imogen moved to Sydney with her family when she was 14 years old. She attended high school at Abbotsleigh in Wahroonga and then studied veterinary science at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2016.
She started her career at a busy practice in Western Sydney, before working in London for three years between 2017-2019. She couldn’t stay away from beautiful Sydney for long though and is now settled down locally with her young family in Thornleigh.
Dr Imogen’s interest in animal behaviour and pet welfare led her to help found the start-up RightPaw, a platform to help people connect with responsible dog breeders. Dr Imogen’s work at RightPaw has helped many pet parents ensure they are matched with the right puppy for their family, from an ethical source, and that they understand how to give them the best possible start in life. Dr Imogen has spent the last few years building RightPaw alongside work in clinical veterinary practice consulting on the Northern Beaches. She has also had extensive prior experience in providing palliative care and compassionate end of life services for elderly pets when it is time to say good-bye.
Life has become even busier since having her son, and Dr Imogen is very happy to be part of the Turramurra Veterinary Hospital team, close to home and working in her local community.
In addition to her 10 years+ experience in clinical practice as a veterinarian, Dr Imogen also has a Diploma of Canine Behaviour from the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers UK, has previously run her own puppy school curriculum and conducted private dog training sessions outside of clinical practice.
Imogen is a kind and gentle vet who is passionate about helping clients understand their pet’s health concerns and working with them as a team to find the right treatment plan for their pet. Her areas of interest have largely been inspired by her own family dogs and include animal behaviour and training, helping anxious pets feel more comfortable at the vet through gentle handling techniques, improving quality of life and senior pet care. She loves forming a strong bond with her patients from their early puppy or kitten stage right through to their senior years.
When she is not at work, Dr Imogen is usually running around after her very active young son, or spending time trying out cafes around Sydney with her family, friends and her family dog, Abbey.
