Maintaining the high standards of hygiene at the vet hospital

Our Vet Hospital Attendants

Our Veterinary Hospital Attendants play a vital role in the smooth running of our hospital. They are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the practice, ensuring all areas are safe, organised and welcoming. Just as importantly, they help ensure our community’s pets and wildlife have a comfortable, stress-free stay by providing attentive daily care, monitoring wellbeing, and supporting our veterinary and nursing teams.

Libby - Vet Hospital Assistant - Turramurra Veterinary Hospital

Libby

Veterinary Hospital Attendant

Libby is a passionate animal attendant with a strong interest in wildlife behaviour and animal welfare. She has completed a Certificate II in Animal Care and a Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care, and loves being part of a role where she can make a positive difference to animals every day.

Libby has wanted to work with animals for as long as she can remember, drawing inspiration from the Irwin family, David Attenborough, and Jane Goodall. Born in the UK, she moved to Australia with her family at the age of eight and attended Brigidine College in St Ives. Prior to joining the team in November 2024, Libby worked in Guest Experience at Sydney Zoo, where she enjoyed connecting with visitors and sharing her enthusiasm for wildlife.

Libby is incredibly grateful to work alongside such a passionate and supportive team, as well as the many people who have helped shape her skills in animal handling and care. Friendly, enthusiastic, and always keen to help, Libby loves being part of a team that truly cares.

When Libby is not working at TVH, she volunteers with the Australian Reptile Park and enjoys spending her free time reading, bouldering with friends, walking, camping, and travelling. Her most recent adventure took her to Namibia, where she volunteered at a wildlife sanctuary. This experience deepened her appreciation for conservation, ethical wildlife care, and working hands-on with animals.

Growing up, Libby was surrounded by animals, including a cat named Pumpkin, fish, hermit crabs, a bird, and many rodents. She now shares her home with two cats, Truffle and Pudding.

Ash - Vet Hospital Assistant - Turramurra Veterinary Hospital

Ash

Veterinary Hospital Attendant

Ash has always had a deep love for animals, along with a desire from an early age to work with them. In 2023, as part of the HSC, Ash completed a Certificate II in Animal Care at Taronga Zoo. Ash now works permanent part-time as an Animal Attendant & Hospital Assistant.

Growing up locally in North Turramurra, Ash attended Turramurra North Public School and then Roseville College. Influences include David Attenborough and Steve Backshall, whose TV shows, such as Deadly 60, captivated a young mind. Ash even had the opportunity to see Steve Backshall live on stage twice.

Ash grew up with a ginger cat named Ringo and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Marley, both who were much-loved and important members of the family. Currently, at home there is a 6-year-old guinea pig named Ginger, and Ash always finds joy in coming home to a steady stream of visiting dogs of all shapes and sizes who stay with the family while their owners are away on holidays.

Aside from loving learning all about caring for animals at Turramurra Veterinary Hospital, art and exploring nature keep Ash busy, alongside a unique talent for spotting native wildlife.
